The Sweetlip Emperor is a common target species on Norfolk Island. The Sweetlip or ‘trumpeter’ as the locals call it inhabits the moderate warm waters around Norfolk and the outer islands, commonly found around most shallow bommies and reef structures.
You will also find Sweetlip ‘trumpeter’ on many of the local menus of the cafe and restaurant scene. The sweetness of this fish is loved by the locals and they will often fry-up or make the local Tahitian fish dish to enjoy.
